I create a netbook without a DVD player and want to disks for the backup system.

I have a desktop with a DVD burner and can both systems on the same network cable to make.

Can I use my desktop DVD player, then use the software for burning DVD on Netbook on the DVD player access to your computer? I do not want to pay money for an external DVD drive.
